In terms of internet marketing, if someone does a search for “architectural illustrator” or “architectural illustration” the ASAI website is typically one of the top 3. Top 3! What that means is that when users are searching for illustrators they are going to see the ASAI website first and have the opportunity to utilize our directory to find an artist. This is a fantastic exposure for our members!
Members are invited to submit their works to Architecture in Perspective, a juried international architectural delineation competition that has included work by the most accomplished contemporary architectural illustrators from around the world. The exhibition consists of approximately 60 pieces of artwork selected by a jury of respected professionals from the fields of architecture, illustration, journalism, and design education. This exhibition travels to various venues throughout the U.S. and overseas.
In conjunction with the competition, a full-color catalog is printed. This catalog has become a resource for architects. All selected artists from the competition are published in the catalog. The catalog includes a membership directory as well as a designated artist section for those members that submitted their entries to the competition but were not chosen. The catalogs are sold and distributed world-wide. Members receive a discount on their catalog purchases.

American Society of Illustrators Partnership (ASIP)
Collecting societies are a new concept to most American illustrators. They exist in countries around the world, but currently, there are none for illustrators in the US. The Illustrators' Partnership brought together 13 prominent visual arts organizations. (ASAI is one of six original founding members.) These groups have incorporated as the American Society of Illustrators Partnership (ASIP). ASIP, which has been chartered as a collecting society, hopes to begin the long-overdue process of bringing accountability to illustrators' reprographic rights. The 13 founding groups of ASIP also formed the nucleus of the 85 organizations that opposed the Orphan Works bill.
