The session will include a general explanation of Japanese paintings and a lecture with real-time demonstration provided by Kawashima himself.

Kawashima was born in 1966 and graduated from Kyoto Seika University. He has received many awards for his work, including several from NITTEN (the prominent Japan Fine Arts Exhibition) and has held numerous private exhibitions. He currently teaches at Kyoto City University of Arts as an assistant professor.
